Tonight I actually got to really sit down and talk about what’s going on in Japan with all of my AACF brothers and sisters. & I think through all of the news and videos about Japan…I’ve been trying to hold it off. I didn’t want to face the reality of how broken and devastated the situation is. & because of that I couldn’t bring myself to watch any videos of the tsunami, and I try not to look at all the pictures of the aftermath and read all of the articles. It’s just too heartbreaking and I couldn’t bring myself to really face all of it. 

&although so many lives have been lost and the survivors are crushed in spirit and I will never know the answer to why such painful things happen to people, I can’t help but be reminded of the fact that God is sovereign and good. & even though it’s extremely difficult to be joyful in such circumstances, we can have joy because we know that God is always good and He makes all things work together for our good. We’re not joyful that bad things happen, but we’re joyful because God can take any hopeless situation and make it into a great and wonderful one.

Father God, tonight I truly pray that people will find and see that there is hope in You. May their chains be broken, lives be healed, & eyes be opened so that Jesus Christ may be revealed to Your people whom you love so dearly.
